CHINESE CONSUL GENERAL CALLS ON SHAHBAZ SHARIF
Lahore, Pakistan:Â The first Consul General of China in Lahore, Yu Boren met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, says official handout released by the Government of Punjab.
The handout further said that matters of mutual interest and promotion of Pak-China relations were discussed in the meeting, says government handout.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that China is a very reliable friend of Pakistan and Pak-China friendship has stood the test of time.
He said that China has helped Pakistan in every hour of need and extended invaluable cooperation in the progress and development of the country. He said that Pak-China friendship is higher than Himalayas, sweeter than honey, stronger than steel and deeper than ocean.
He said that China has proved to be a true friend of Pakistan by extending cooperation in the development of different sectors. The Chief Minister said that a new era of Pak-China friendship has begun in the tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-N government, led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and the strong relations between the two countries have turned into useful economic ties.
He said that Pak-China Economic Corridor is an important step in the growing trade and economic relations between the two countries and will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in Pakistan. He said that 2015 is being observed as the year of beginning of Pak-China economic cooperation as a result of which Pak-China friendship will enter into a new phase. Shahbaz Sharif said that China has signed agreements worth billions of dollars for investment in energy, infrastructure and other sectors in Pakistan due to which economic and trade contacts will further strengthen between the two countries. He said that China has made rapid progress through hard work and commitment and has become a big economic force.
He said that the progress made by China is role model for the other nations of the world.
Chinese Consul General Yu Boren said that China considers Pakistan as its brother and Chinese leadership highly values the present leadership of the country.
