JALANDHAR, India: The New Delhi-based Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a protest at the Indian Northern City of Jalandhar on Wednesday as part of a Country-wide series of protests against the abrogation of Article 370.

With the scrapping of Article 370 on August 5, the Indian government deprived the eight million people of Jammu and Kashmir of the Special Status, they had been enjoying since decades, and put them under an indefinite curfew besides inflicting other multiple restrictions on them.

As Narendra Modi-led Central government in New Delhi repealed Article 370, the CPI inspired by Marxist/Leninist ideologies termed the initiative by the government “a big blow” at democracy and a betrayal with Kashmiris.

The CPI also outlined a series of protests across the Country along with other left-wing parties to denounce the Modi government’s illegal act.

On October 13, the CPI and seven left-wing parties held a day-long protest at Moga City, where protestors were carrying placards with a question that “is Hitler Still Alive?

The protestors in their slogans were of the view that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the fascist Hitler of 21st Century.

In her speech at the demonstration, the CPI leader Annie Raja, who is also the General Secretary of National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW), said that Indian forces had written a new history of brutality in Jammu and Kashmir.
