ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Thursday extended formal invitation to the Czech Republic to participate in the upcoming international event of defence exhibition (IDEAS-2016).
The invitation was extended by Minister of Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain during a meeting with Ambassador of Czech Republic Jon Fury.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Minister of Defence Production appreciated military support provided to Pakistan’s armed forces in providing various equipment for the Air force and over hauling of Army Aviation assets.
The meeting acknowledged the fact that both the countries had greater potential in the field of defence production which needed to be explored for the mutual benefits of the two sides.
“Pakistan is keen to promote closer partnership and meaningful defence cooperation with Czech Republic”, Rana Tanveer said.
The minister expressed hoped that leadership of Pakistan and Czech Republic would make efforts to pave way for promoting and strengthening closer defence cooperation.
The Ambassador admired the production and standards of Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) and Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah.
He mentioned about a previous agreement between Wah Brass Mill Pvt. Ltd. and M/s. Vitkovic Czech Republic for up-gradation of existing Brass Mill.
He expressed keen interest for cooperation between military academies of both the countries.
He extended invitation that Pakistan may send here pilots for participating in the air show being held Czech Republic in October this year.
Both countries are strategic partner to maintain regional stability. Czech Republic has long tradition of defence industry and reliable technology.
Back in 2010 Pakistan and Czech Republic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase mutual cooperation at military to military level besides in defence sector.
