TEHRAN: A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck the town of Bastak in Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan on Thursday, killing at least one person and injuring 30 others, Iranian state TV reported.
The earthquake took place on Thursday morning in the town of Bastak, about 750 miles south of the capital, Tehran.
The reports said that many of the town buildings were damaged and that rescue workers were on the scene.
