QUETTA: A shutter down and wheel jam strike was observed in Balochistan’s provincial capital on Thursday on the call of the Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) against yesterday’s suicide attack on a bus of pilgrims in Quetta that left at least three persons killed.
A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a pilgrims’ bus when it was entering the Akhtarabad area of Quetta from Iran on Wednesday evening, killing at least three persons and injuring 31 others including women and children.
Later, a case was registered in a police station under the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) against unknown persons. The FIR was lodged under sections of the law pertaining to terrorism, murder, attempted murder and other charges.
According to reports, Alamdar Road, Hazara Town, Kirani, Marriabad and other commercial centres remain closed and roads witnessed less traffic on Thursday as the city mourned the ferocious attack.
