ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will soon file an appeal in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the registrar’s objections on the petition seeking to delay local bodies elections across the country, the ECP sources said on Tuesday.
On Monday, the ECP filed a petition in the apex court seeking to delay local bodies elections across the country by March 2014. However, the Supreme Court’s registrar returned the petition, describing it as non-maintainable.
The registrar maintained that the apex court had already given its verdict on November 5.
