CAIRO: The Egyptian government on Saturday expelled the Turkish ambassador Huseyin Avni Botsali, alleging that Turkey was attempting to influence public opinion against Egyptian interests

In a statement, the spokesman for the Egypt’s foreign ministry Badr Abdelatty said that government also recalled its ambassador from Turkey and decided to decrease its level of diplomatic representation with Turkey to that of charge d’affaires.

The spokesman accused that Turkey was attempting to influence public opinion against Egyptian interests and meetings of organizations that seek to create instability in the country.
