PESHAWAR: Former President and Chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has been summoned to appear before the Election Tribunal in Peshawar on April 16 to defend approval of his candidature from NA-32 Chitral on Thursday.
The tribunal has issued notice to the former military ruler to appear on April 16 after hearing objections raised over the decision of the Returning Officer of Chitral, who approved Musharraf’s nomination papers.
Earlier, Alamzeb and Khalilur-Rehman, residents of Chitral filed their appeal challenging the nomination of Pervez Musharraf to contest general election from NA-32 Chitral.
It may be mentioned that Mushrraf’s nomination papers were earlier rejected from National Assembly constituencies of NA-250, Karachi and NA-139, Kasur againt which he has filed appeals.
