QUETTA, Pakistan: The Frontier Corps (FC) personnel killed at least 13 militants including some key commanders in Awaran district of Balochistan province on Tuesday morning.
In a statement, the FC Spokesman Khan Wasey said that the security forces conducted an operation to nab miscreants in various areas of Mashkay tehsil of Awaran.
But in the meantime, an exchange of fire erupted between the two sides which resulted in the deaths of 13 militants including some key commanders.
The FC spokesman said that during the clash with militants, a FC soldier was also martyred while two others sustained injuries.
Wasey further said that the militants were affiliated with the the banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).
Meanwhile, in a press conference in Quetta on Tuesday, the Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that the Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is involved in the deterioration of law and order in Balochistan.
The provincial home minister said that the security forces recently carried out successful operations against militants in different areas including Qilla Abdullah, Dera Murad Jamali, Bhag and Khanozai Pishin.
Sarfaraz Bugti said that that terrorism in Balochistan will be wiped out from its roots.
