ISLAMABAD: The federal government has so far released Rs1.5 billion for relief of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the federal administrated tribal areas (FATA), the federal minister Abdul Qadir Baloch told newsmen in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The minister said that every affected family is being provided a cash assistance of Rs12,000 for sustenance. He said that Rs3,000 are being provided to those who have hired house on rent.
Qadir Baloch said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would soon visit IDPs in Bannu and may announce more relief measures to mitigate sufferings of the affected people.
The federal minister said that at the federal level, the prime minister’s relief fund has also been set up. He said that all members of the federal cabinet and parliamentarians belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would contribute their one month salary to the fund.
Similarly, all federal government employees would contribute their one day pay for the affected families, he said.
