Islamabad:  Flood like situation has developed in Rawalpindi as water level has reached alarming level at Nullah Leh where water level has risen to 22.60 feet at Katarian and 19.36 feet at Gawalmandi. Spillways of Rawal dam have also opened to discharge the additional water.

Rains submerged main roads of Islamabad and Rawalpindi including Islamabad expressway‚ causing traffic jams. Three young people drown in Nullah Leh near Ratta Imral, Rawalpindi: rescue sources.

The spokesman of MTA told that army’s help has been sought in Gawalmandi area of Rawalpindi while rainwater has submerged Gulbahar, Kohat Road, Charsadda Road and other areas.

In the last 24 hours, 54 mm rainfall was recorded in Peshawar, 49 mm in Risalpur, 47 mm Islamabad and 30 mm in Sialkot.
