ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The arrival of foreign delegates to Pakistan to attend the 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers continues.

The 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is being held in Islamabad on March 22-23, 2022 with the theme ‘Partnering for Unity, Justice and Development’.

By now, the Secretary General of OIC Hissein Ibrahim Taha, President of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, and the Foreign Ministers of Bangladesh, Tunisia, Bosnia, Somalia, Niger, Gambia and Côte d’Ivoire besides Deputy Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Libya, Malaysia and Mozambique have arrived in Islamabad to attend the OIC meeting.

Likewise, Permanent Representative of Maldives to OIC Mohemed Khalil and Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to OIC Mohammad Javed Patwary have also arrived in Islamabad.

Talking to the state media after his arrival, the Secretary General OIC Hissein Ibrahim Taha said that the OIC Session will discuss a host of issues including the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.

The OIC secretary general termed the adoption of resolution by the UN against Islamophobia an important step towards addressing this issue.

Meanwhile, a “Charter Signing Ceremony” for the Humanitarian Trust Fund for Afghanistan will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the OIC Secretary General Hissein Ibrahim Taha and IDB President Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser will attend the Ceremony.
