ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will get Technology Development Funds from the federal government worth of Rs 2.94 billion to further strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship activities in Pakistani universities.
An official of the HEC told on Monday that the allocation of these funds would be utilized for 200 projects of HEC in the next five years wherein research project with commercial viability would also be funded.
He said that it is mandated to further strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship activities in Pakistani universities that will ultimately help in creation of job opportunities as well as country’s economic empowerment.
HEC’s Innovation Steering Committee in its recent meeting also discussed the utilization method of these upcoming funds.
