LAHORE: Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran (TMQ) Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that his movement is not directed against any specific institution of the country, rather it is meant to make Pakistani nation enlightened, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Friday.
In his address to a press conference after the Supreme Court of Pakistan dismissed his petition seeking the reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Qadri said he would start his movement’s second phase from February 15 and first public gathering in this connection will be held in Gujranwala.
Meanwhile, TMQ chief clarified that his movement is not against the judiciary, as the schedule of these public gatherings were announced much ahead of the judicial ruling on his dual nationality.
Giving his opinion on the dual nationality, Dr. Tahirul Qadri asserted the kind of mindset reflected in the observation by the apex court will expose Pakistan to myriad of problems at international level.
“My purpose is nation building as I want to give bright future to the nation by enabling them to get rid of the worst oppressive system. I don’t eye elections; instead, it is future of the generations that I keep in view,” he said.
