ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the newly-promulgated ‘Protection of Pakistan Ordinance’.
The petition was filed by advocate Saleemullah Khan who in his petition argued that some of sections of the ordinance are against the fundamental rights of the citizens as enshrined in the constitution.
The advocate also requested for the constitution of a larger bench to hear the petition. In response to which, Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan of the IHC referred the matter to Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi.
