Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: Kyrgyzstan and India will cooperate of hydropower, health and agriculture sector.
This was decided during a meeting of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov with Indian Foreign Minister Sushmu Swaraj (Sushma Swaraj) who is visiting Bishkek on the invitation of State of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of Presidential Office, India also offered to support in the sphere of information and communication technologies and capacity building of local government system of Kyrgyzstan.
The statement of Presidential Office said that the President called the priority areas of cooperation in the field of hydropower, health and agriculture.
“We have great opportunities for setting up joint ventures, especially in the agricultural sector, as Kyrgyzstan produces environmentally friendly products.” Kyrgyzstan also has the status of the GSP + and the opportunity to enter the markets of the European Union. “I am pleased that we also have active contacts with India in tourism, for which a great future, “- said President Jeenbekov.
Svaraj, referring to the introduction of information and communication technologies in the activities of state bodies, offered to provide concrete assistance in training and creating for these purposes special training centers.
In turn, President Jeenbekov recalled that the chairmanship of the SCO was transferred to Kyrgyzstan, the next meeting of the heads of state will be held in Bishkek and handed an official invitation to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, combining it with participation in the SCS SCU.
“We are glad that democracy is being strengthened and developed in such a beautiful country as Kyrgyzstan. We are ready to cooperate for its development. It is my first official visit to Kyrgyzstan, but bilateral relations between our countries have been developing actively over 25 years,” said Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Svaraj.
