The Indian biographical movie “Sanju” was released on June 29, and since then it has received a very positive response from the Indian as well as Pakistani audience. The film collected 34.75 crore on its opening day at the box office, which was the highest for all films released in India in 2018. Receiving very positive reviews from the critics, the film still can be seen on many cinemas in both the countries.
The film is based on Sanjay Datt’s real life story and starred Ranbir Kapoor as the lead role. The movie revolves around Sanjay Datt’s life scandals and his strong bond with his father (Sunil Dutt). It also follows his drug addiction controversies and the actual reason of his arrest. In 1993, he was arrested and accused of being a terrorist. He was dragged into a case due to his involvement in unlawful activities. The following incident has played a major part in “Sanju”. Besides, it also showed his comeback in the film industry after his slammer time.

Rajkumar Hirani who is known for his Bollywood hits like “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S” “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “3 Idiots” and “PK” set a new benchmark by breaking his own lifetime business of “PK”. “Sanju” has now become the third biggest Indian movie by grossing Rs 430.50 crore (net 341.22 crores) in India and over Rs 570 crore at the worldwide box office.

Talking about the critics of the film, it received a positive response with particular praises for Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in the movie. IMDb rated the movie with 8.5/10 star, whereas Hindustan Time rated it with 2.5/5 stars. Divya Solgama of “Bollywood Times” gave the film 4.5/5 stars, stating that ‘”Sanju” is an emotionally enriching experience which every cinema lover should witness.’
The film also starred known Indian actor Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Vicky Kaushal as Kamlesh Kanhaiyalal Kapasi, Manisha Koirala as Nargis, Dia Mirza as Manyata Dutt, Sonam Kapoor as Ruby and the last but not the least Anushka Sharma as Winnie Dias in a biographer’s role.
