NEW DELHI: A senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the minister for rural development and water and sanitation Gopinath Munde has died after his car met an accident in New Delhi on Tuesday morning.
The 64-year-old Munde was among ministers sworn in on Monday last week after the BJP’S landslide victory over the left-wing Congress party at the general election.
“His car was hit by another car which gave him a shock and Munde himself asked his driver to rush him to the hospital,” fellow minister Nitin Gadkari told reporters outside the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital.
