Baku, Azerbaijan: Istanbul Declaration will contribute to enhancing regional stability and development, said Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee.
In an exclusive talk at ADA Majlis media program hosted by a famous journalist, talk show host, and anchor Anastasia Lavrina in the Institute for Development and Diplomacy at ADA University, Ambassador Bilal was of the view that Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Pakistan are (were) natural friends having historic and social linkages and they are always available for each other’s whenever it is needed.
Explaining Istanbul Declaration, he was of the view:
“Signed as a part of the second trilateral meeting of the parliament speakers of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Pakistan the declaration will help to improve trade connectivity, cooperation, people-to-people relations, and travel facilities between three brotherly countries,”.
Talking about the situation in the South Caucasus, the ambassador mentioned that Pakistan strongly supports Azerbaijan’s initiative to normalize relations with Armenia and the efforts to open Zangezur corridor. It was said that the opening of new transport corridors is also in the interests of Pakistan.
“Azerbaijan and Pakistan have historically enjoyed excellent coordinate relations. Today we work closely on the issue of demining of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan where Pakistani companies are also active in reconstruction activities”, he added.
Ambassador believes that regional stability is critical for economic prosperity. “Pakistan also desires to normalize the relations with all its neighbors, as it will bring prosperity for all people in South Asia”, he concluded.
