ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday said the region would keep on suffering and facing problems until Kashmir dispute was resolved peacefully.
Talking to the Commander Sri Lankan Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, the president said friendly relations with its neighbours was the foundation of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The president said Pakistan-Sri Lanka ties were deep and exemplary, and both the Countries had always enjoyed cordial relations.
President Mamnoon said both the Countries combated terrorism steadfastly, and stood by each other in time of distress. He said peace was restored in Pakistan due to the sacrifices of its people and security forces.
The Sri Lankan army commander said Pakistan was the cradle of Buddhist Civilization which was the common heritage of both the nations.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Army Commander Lt General Mahesh Senanayake also presented a souvenir to President Mamnoon Hussain.
