ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday announced that Youm-e-Istehsal would be observed on August 5 to express full solidarity with the Kashmiri people of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Briefing the media about the details of the planned events in connection with August 5 in Islamabad, the minister said one minute silence would be observed across Pakistan to give a message of peace on that day followed by a Solidarity March in the Federal Capital as well as Provincial Capitals.

The foreign minister said a Memorandum would be presented to the UN Observer Mission.

Qureshi also informed that Prime Minister Imran Khan would address the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on August 5 to give Kashmiris the message of solidarity and let them know they are not alone in their just right of achieving freedom from the illegal occupation of India.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the day was not away when they would offer prayer in the mosque of Srinagar with their Kashmiri brethren. The minister said they had decided to enhance diplomatic outreach to significantly highlight the Indian oppressions in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IO&K).  The foreign minister said global leaders would be contacted and letters would be written to many of them in that regard. He directed the Pakistani Diplomats to play proactive role in highlighting the Kashmir issue. Qureshi said on August 5, only the Ceremony was not enough, local media engagements in their respective Countries were needed and through a newly introduced APP their activities would be noticed. Similarly, he added that keeping in view the SOPs of COVID-19, Solidarity walks, Photo Exhibitions and Seminars would be arranged across the country to raise voices against Indian outrage in IOJ&K. The foreign minister also urged the nation, Muslim Ummah and Pakistani diaspora to express solidarity with Kashmiris on that day which opened a new era of oppression in IOJ&K. The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz and the Prime Minister's Special Assistant on National Security Moeed Yusuf were also present in the Press Conference.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the day was not away when they would offer prayer in the mosque of Srinagar with their Kashmiri brethren.

The minister said they had decided to enhance diplomatic outreach to significantly highlight the Indian oppressions in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IO&K).
