COLOMBO, Sri Lanka: “Kashmir Solidarity Day” was observed by the High Commission of Pakistan in Colombo, to express solidarity and reaffirm Pakistan’s unconditional support to the Kashmiris in their struggle for the right of self-determination.
The Ceremony was attended by a good number of the Pakistani Community, friends of Kashmir, local journalists, and diplomats based in Colombo.
The event was addressed by Key Note Speakers Mr. Muhammad Shiraz Yoonus and Dr. Asela Wickramasinghe.
Both Speakers stressed upon the peaceful solution of the issue through meaningful dialogue and highlighted the significance of interfaith harmony as well as the peaceful co-existence of all.
The Seminar concluded with remarks delivered by the Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan.
He reiterated the resolve of the government & people of Pakistan that they will always stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their hour of need.
He also said that Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK) has been under sheer brutal violence of Indian troops for more than seven decades and it is high time the world, especially the United Nations must take notice of these human rights violations.
Lastly, the Acting High Commissioner thanked the august Keynote Speakers for their heartfelt and enthusiastic participation.
On the occasion, Trade & Investment Attaché and Press Attaché read the Kashmir Solidarity Day messages of President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan respectively.
The exhibition of pictures depicting the human rights violations by the Indian forces in the IIOJK was also part of the Seminar.
