KashmirPakistan to give Kashmiris right to remain independent if they choose to:...

KOTLI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed the hope that the day will come when Kashmiris will choose Pakistan over India and we will give them the right either to remain independent or become part of Pakistan.

While addressing a public rally in the Kotli area of Azad Kashmir on Friday in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, the prime minister said that the entire Pakistani nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their struggle for the right to self-determination.

The prime minister said that Pakistan is cognizant of the oppression being committed against the people in IIOJK by the Indian forces. He said that he will continue raising Kashmiris’ voice on all world forums.

Imran Khan said that soon after coming to power he sent a message of friendship to the Indian leadership to make them understand that the issue of Kashmir cannot be resolved through the use of force.

The premier said that no army or superpower can win a war against an entire population. He noted that India cannot suppress Kashmiris’ voice through the barrel of gun as even the newly born baby in Kashmir opens his eyes with sentiments of freedom in his heart.

In addition, the prime minister also reminded of the International Community to fulfill its promise of organizing a plebiscite in Kashmir, giving an opportunity to Kashmiris to decide their fate in the light of UN resolutions.
