PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Mehmood Khan said on Monday the provincial government was constructing roads to open up the far flung and beautiful areas of Swat district for promotion of tourism and mountaineering in the province.
He said inauguration of construction of Skara-Gabeein Jabba Road would be held soon that would make the remote areas more accessible for tourists.
Addressing a gathering at village Rornegr Matta in Swat district, the Minister said Swat was the most beautiful place of the province with full potential of tourism centre of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and time has come to take full advantage of this potential.
To achieve this objective, he said roads are being constructed to connect the far flung areas of the district with main highways and roads to explore natural beauty of Swat. The Minister said Swat Motorway would make the entire region into hub of economic investment besides bolstering tourism in the valley.
The Minister said construction work on Matta-Faazal road costing Rs 600 million has been already completed while work on several others projects are underway that would accelerate pace of economic development in the district. He said work on several links roads are near completion and would be inaugurated soon.
