ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rasheed has said that it has now been proved that the popularity of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is increasing due to his vision.
His statement came in reference to a victory by a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate Rana Mehmoodul Hassan in the by-election in PP-196 Multan.
“Lion is not coming, in fact it has come,” the information minister said in a statement issued after the unofficial results indicated the PML-N’s victory in PP-196 by-polls.
The minister said that people have once again rejected the politics of lies, allegations and conspiracies being practiced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
Pervaiz Rasheed said that courts and nature both were exposing the lies of Imran Khan as the PTI had experienced yet another defeat at the hands of the PML-N in PP-196 by-election.
Unofficial results of the PP-196 by-election held on Thursday suggested that the PML-N’s candidate secured 30,278 votes while the PTI’s candidate Rana Abdul Jabbar remained the runner up with 19,321 votes.
The Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) candidate Muhammad Hussain Arain could manage to bag only 6,519 votes.
