LAHORE, Pakistan: The Deputy Controller of Examinations of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Saima Tabassum has expressed willingness to become approver, intensifying the likelihood of further disclosures in Medical Entry Test Controversy.
Sources were cited by Daily Nai Baat as saying that Saima Tabassum assured the UHS administration to expose anyone complicit in leak of Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2017 paper. Therefore, the UHS administration once again gave the task of re-conduct of medial entry test to Saima Tabassum.
Meanwhile, Saima Tabassum has sought leniency for herself and her detained husband Dr Kashif on charges of paper leak from the UHS administration.
Sources said that the UHS administration has been lenient towards Saima Tabassum, adding that the administration violated all rules to please the Deputy Controller Examination.
They said that Saima Tabassum was recruited in 2006 on fixed salary as Computer Operator but later was promoted to grade-11 on the behest of Dr Junaid Sarfraz.
Saima Tabassum was promoted to grade-18 from grade-11, and appointed as the Deputy Controller of Examinations. Eventually she was deployed in the Secrecy Department where question papers are prepared.
Sources said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has extended its investigation into leak of MDCAT 2017 paper. They said that BDS and MBBS examinations conducted in last nine years are being probed while a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in Police Station Muslim Town.
As per the FIA, an organized group, which included Dr Rao Bilal, Rao Noshad, Dr Haider Alias Jatu, Dr Rana Kashmir and others, was involved in running this heinous business.
Meanwhile in a meeting presided over by new Vice Chancellor UHS Dr Faisal Masood, it has been decided to re-take the Medical Entry Test on October 29.
According to the FIA investigation, Vice Chancellor UHS Junaid Sarfraz and Deputy Controller of Examinations Saima Tabassum were found involved in MDCAT 2017 paper leak.
The investigation revealed that per paper Rs 2 million were being charged for last seven years. The FIA has arrested the VC Junaid Sarfraz and initiated the investigation.
