Militants attacked military camps after North Waziristan air strikes: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: At least 11 militants were killed while four security forces personnel also embraced shahadat (martyrdom) in an encounter near Mir Ali area of North Waziristan tribal region, a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday states.

The ISPR said that the clash between the security forces and militants occurred after militants targeted military camps by mortar fires and rockets in retaliation to the Wednesday’s air strikes on militants’ hideouts in North Waziristan that left at least 60 militants including some of the important commanders and foreigners killed.

The media wing of the Pakistan army further said that three soldiers who sustained injuries during yesterday’s encounter with militants were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar.

It also claimed that no air strikes were carried out in North Waziristan today.
