BHURBAN, Pakistan: The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) organized a high-profile National Freelancing Conference 2021 to obtain feedback on the National Freelancing Facilitation Policy draft from Pakistan’s leading freelancers and associated stakeholders.
The two-day Conference held at Bhurban was sponsored by the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) as a key partner.
Freelancers from across the Country participated in the Conference.
The Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haq was the Chief Guest.
While addressing the National Freelancing Conference 2021, Syed Amin Ul Haque said freelancers have an important role in the IT industry, and steps are being taken to resolve all their issues.
The federal minister for IT set the target of US$ 3 billion in export remittance inflows from Pakistani IT/ITes freelancers in the next three years and asked to prioritize all possible measures to ensure sustainable growth of the gig economy in Pakistan.
The minister said that connectivity is very important for freelancers and the Ministry of IT is taking every possible step for the provision of broadband services both in unserved and underserved areas of the country.
Syed Amin Ul Haque also urged women to come forward in the field of freelancing.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary IT Dr. Sohail Rajput said that the IT sector has a very important role in the economic development of the country. He said that National Freelancing Facilitation Policy is aimed at facilitating freelancers.
The Member IT Syed Junaid Imam and the Managing Director Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) Osman Nasir, also addressed.
The National Freelancing Conference obtained input from all stakeholders on the National Freelancing Facilitation Policy to work towards measures that would help Pakistan become a gig economy powerhouse.

The national company has joined hands with PSEB to organize National Freelancing Conference 2021 as part of its ambition to support the development of an enabling framework that is necessary for the freelancers’ community in Pakistan.
