Government of PakistanNo safe haven of terrorists in Pakistan: Dastgir

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Countrywide condemnation of US President Donald Trump’s anti-Pakistan tweet doesn’t seem getting alleviated soon, and now the Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir also rejected the notion of Pakistan having safe havens for terrorists.

“There is no safe haven of terrorists in Pakistan,” the defence minister said in a statement on Tuesday.

Donald Trump wrote a humiliating tweet on Monday, once again accusing Pakistan of providing shelters to terrorists. He also repented for financially helping Pakistan with the provision of $33 billion in last decade and half.

The US president didn’t content with it and even labeled Pakistan as liar and deceiver. He also disclosed his intention of not giving any further aid to Pakistan in the future.

Khurram Dastgir strongly condemned the statement of Donald Trump, and noted that the people and security forces of Pakistan rendered unprecedented sacrifices in war against terrorism.

The minister reiterated that Pakistan is capable to defend its soil, and also said that we will not allow Afghan war to be fought on Pakistan’s soil.

Earlier talking to a Private News Channel, the Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif also lamented the US president’s remarks about Pakistan, and said that the United States is shifting its frustration towards Pakistan after its failure in Afghanistan.

Separately, the Foreign Office also summoned the US ambassador in Islamabad David Hale last night and lodged a protest over Donald Trump’s rhetoric against Pakistan.
