NEW YORK: The Pakistani new ambassador to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi has said that there is a need to evolve a multifaceted response to a multidimensional challenge of terrorism.
In her address at a global counter-terrorism meeting in New York, the envoy said that an effective response to combat terrorism is required by developing a greater understanding of terrorist movements, their specific motivations and objectives.
The Pakistani envoy also called for developing recommendations and a plan of action at the global level to counter terrorist groups in the world.
Dr Maleeha Lodhi said that Pakistan has extended its full support to the United Nations’ efforts against terrorism.
Moreover, she assured Pakistan’s full support to the UN’s focus on capacity building for member states and regional organizations to counter-terrorism.
