Pakistan, Canada vow enhancing security cooperationISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Greg Giokas held a meeting with the Secretary Defence Lt. General (retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak and discussed issues of bilateral interest and vowed to work for enhancing mutual security cooperation between two countries.

The secretary defence thanked the High Commissioner for the support provided to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) and flood victims. He also appreciated the Canadian government for taking the lead on G-8 Border Prosperity Initiative for the development of border regions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, says a press release.

Khattak apprised the High Commissioner about the sacrifices offered by Pakistanis in terms of life and property.

The High Commissioner described the relations between Pakistan and Canada as close and cordial.

The defence secretary thanked the High Commissioner and termed the meeting fruitful especially in terms of identifying new avenues of future cooperation between the two countries.
