ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Wednesday condemned the drone strike carried out by the Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Kurram agency earlier in the morning, which targeted an Afghan refugee camp.
In a press release issued in Islamabad, the Foreign Office said that Pakistan has continued to emphasize to the US the importance of sharing actionable intelligence so that appropriate action is taken against terrorists by our forces within our territory.
“Such unilateral actions, as that of today, are detrimental to the spirit of cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism,” it added.
The Foreign Office said that Pakistan has also been stressing the need of early repatriation of Afghan refugees as their presence in Pakistan helps Afghan terrorists to melt and morph among them.
Earlier Dawn News reported that twin drone strikes were conducted in North Waziristan agency by the US, targeting a Haqqani Network hideout which resulted in death of three persons including Haqqani Network Commander Ehsan alias Khawari and two of his Companions.
Citing sources within the Political Administration of Speen Thal Dapa Mamozai, the Daily also reported that the drone strikes targeted a house belonging to Afghan refugees.
