ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has condemned the Houthi missile attack on Saudi Arabia carried out on Sunday (March 25, 2018).

On Sunday night, the Saudi air defenses intercepted seven ballistic missiles fired by Houthi militia in Yemen towards various targets in Saudi Arabia.

“Pakistan commends the Government of Saudi Arabia for destroying the missiles and limiting the casualties,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal on Monday.

“The Government and people of Pakistan reiterate their full support and solidarity with the leadership, the government and people of Saudi Arabia against any threats to its territorial integrity and against the Haramain Sharifain,” the statement added.

Earlier the Spokesman of the Saudi-led Coalition Forces Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that three missiles were randomly fired by Houthi militia towards Riyadh City, one towards Khamis Mushait, one towards Najran and two towards Jazan to target civilian populated areas.

The Spokesman said that all the missiles were intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi Royal air defense forces. However, interception of the missiles led to the fall of fragments on some residential areas, killing an Egyptian expatriate.
