KEMEROVO, Russia: The Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered an investigation into the fire which broke out at a Shopping Mall in the Kemerovo City, causing deaths of at least 64 people including children.
Dozens of people were still missing as the rescue operation was under to extinguish the fire and discover the remaining missing people alive at the Shopping and Entertainment Complex whose upper floors wherein a Cinema and Children’s play area were located were engulfed by a massive fire.
As per the Russian media, 11 children were also among the deaths caused by the blaze, one of the deadliest in Russia since the end of the Soviet Union.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has condoled the loss of lives in Kemerovo Shopping Centre fire incident
“We convey our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for early recovery of the injured,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Tuesday.
“The people and Government of Pakistan share the grief of the people and the Government of the Russian Federation and stand by them in this moment of grief,” it said.
