ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary Tuesday said that Pakistan and Portugal could enhance cooperation in various areas including economy, education, health care and culture.
He said that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Portugal as the two countries had a history of cordial and friendly ties.
According to a press release, he was talknig to Portuguese Ambassador to Pakistan Jaao Paulo Sabido Costa, who was called on him here.
He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan was moving in the positive direction. Law and order situation had improved to a great deal during last two and a half years and a lot of foreign investment was coming into the country from all around the world, he added.
The minister told the envoy said that his ministry looked after health care, education and development affairs of the capital city and Portugal’s cooperation in those sectors would be welcome.
“We can learn and benefit from each others’ experiences and expertise,” he added.
The two sides also discussed the visa policy and cultural exchange programmes.
The Portuguese Ambassador said the two countries needed to move forward together and further strengthen existing ties.
He appreciated the ample investment friendly opportunities offered by Pakistan.
