ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 82 people passed away on January 1 across Pakistan succumbing to Coronavirus while 2,184 more people tested positive showing a positivity ratio of 5.81%.
Out of 82 deaths, 43 took place in Punjab, 22 in Sindh, 12 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), and 2 each in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) whereas 1 death occurred in Balochistan.
In the last 24 hours, 38,229 people were tested for COVID-19 in the Country, 2,184 of them were found positive with a national positivity ratio of 5.81%
The highest positivity ratio was observed in Karachi 15.77% followed by Peshawar 15.54% and Mirpur 9.26%.
The province-wise data showed that Punjab recorded 4.70% positivity ratio on January 1, Sindh 8.10%, KPK 5.38%, Balochistan 3.82%, Islamabad 3.39, AJK 8.52%, and Gilgit-Baltistan 1.41%.
So far, a total of 484,362 Coronavirus Cases have been detected across the Country including 139,341 in Punjab, 216,632 in Sindh, 59,023 in KPK, 18,181 in Balochistan, 38,020 in ICT, 8,303 in AJK, and 4,862 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Similarly, the Country has so far suffered 10,258 deaths, out of which 4,085 occurred in Punjab, 3,582 in Sindh, 1,661 in KPK, 421 in Islamabad, 184 in Balochistan, 224 in AJK, and 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
However, 438,974 COVID patients have been recovered now across Pakistan making it a significant count.
As of January 2, the total under treatment COVID-19 patients in Pakistan are 35,130 and 2,264 of them are in critical condition.
