BERNE, Switzerland: The 8th round of Pakistan–Switzerland consultations was held on Friday in Berne, the capital of Switzerland.
During the consultations, the two countries reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship in diverse areas especially political, economic, education, culture and development.
The additional secretary foreign affairs Nadeem Riyaz led the Pakistan side while the assistant state secretary for Asia pacific of the federal department of foreign affairs Johannes Matyassy led the Swiss delegation.
The consultations provided an opportunity to have a frank exchange of views on bilateral, regional and global issues.
It was also agreed that the two sides will promote exchange of parliamentary delegations, cooperation between chambers of commerce and work in areas of renewable energy.
Likewise, the two sides agreed that linkages between educational institutions would also be explored.
It was agreed that the next round of political consultations will be held in Islamabad in 2015.
