SANYA, China: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said Pakistan wanted peaceful and impartial solution of Kashmir issue.

In a meeting with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of BOAO Forum for Asia held in China’s Hainan province, the prime minister expressed deep concerns over deteriorating situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and mindless killing spree of innocent Kashmiris by Indian forces.


The prime minister said Kashmir issues should be resolved as per the wishes of Kashmiris and resolutions of the United Nations. He said the UN secretary general should play role to bring Indian atrocities before the World.

Khaqan Abbasi also said Indian ceasefire violation at the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary was a threat for regional peace.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Pakistan adopted zero tolerance policy against terrorism. He said Pakistan rendered countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism, and added the World should acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices.

The UN secretary general acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts towards counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance to the Afghan refugees and the UN peacekeeping operations. He maintained that he had been advocating the need for a serious dialogue on the Kashmir issue.

The Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, the Minister for Interior, Planning, Development & Reform Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid and senior officials were also present during the meeting.
