ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minster Imran Khan has said that the issue of blasphemous caricatures will be raised at the United Nations when it will meet in New York next month.

In his maiden address at the Senate in Islamabad on Monday, the prime minister said that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should adopt a strategy over blasphemous cartoons.

Imran Khan said that the Muslim World should be vibrant on the issue of ‘audacious portraits’. He said that first, we should be united on a single platform and then put our reservations and grievances in front of the World.

The prime minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will introduce a new culture of accountability and will make effort to improve credibility of the Parliament.

“We will increase the importance of the Parliament,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister said that we need to decrease our expenses, and spend tax money on the people. He said that we will auction the cars allotted for the PM House.

Earlier the Upper House of the Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution condemning publication of blasphemous cartoons in Netherlands.

The resolution was tabled in the Senate by the Leader of the House Shibli Faraz.
