ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir on Tuesday said the curtains between Pakistan and the US relations had removed and everything was clear now.
“We will not allow anyone to fight Afghan war from Pakistani Soil,” Dastgir said while addressing a Seminar in Islamabad.
The minister said Pak-US relations deteriorated after the US President Donald Trump made humiliating remarks against Pakistan while Washington also cut off security assistance to Islamabad.
Khurram Dastgir said Pakistan didn’t want any aid from the United States rather it wanted the World to acknowledge the sacrifices it rendered for global peace. He deplored that Pakistan was being made a scapegoat for US failure in Afghanistan.
“43 percent of Afghanistan is under control of terrorists,” the minister remarked.
The defence minister said the US Secretary Defence himself admitted that they were not succeeding in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan completely cooperated with the United States, and destroyed terrorist hideouts on its Soil.
Dastgir also voiced serious concerns over India’s attitude at the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary. He said Pakistan wanted to resolve all outstanding issues with India but New Delhi seemed reluctant and rather violated 2003 ceasefire agreement over 1,300 times last year.
