LAHORE: A six-member Punjab Parliamentary Committee will meet again in Lahore on Tuesday while only one day is left to reach a consensus over selection of caretaker Chief Minister, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
If the Committee fails to end the existing stalemate today‚ the matter will go to the Election Commission on Wednesday.
The parliamentary committee would deliberate on four nominees. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had named Justice (retd) Aamir Raza Khan and former bureaucrat Khwaja Zaheer while the opposition had proposed Justice (retd) Zahid Hussain and senior journalist Najam Sethi.
Meanwhile, an opposition member in the parliamentary committee Chaudhary Zaheeruddin said that the committee would likely to hold conclusive talks today.
