BANNU: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the camps of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the North Waziristan tribal region in Bannu on Friday and assured to extend all possible assistance for them.
Talking to the displaced families in Bannu, the prime minister announced increasing assistance package per family up to Rs20,000 from current Rs12,000. He said that special allowance of Rs20,000 will also be given to each family during the holy month of Ramazan.
The prime minister said that the government is cognizant of the difficulties of the displaced families and military and civil officials are working together to provide relief to the displaced families.
Sharif said that all resources will be made available for the assistance of the displaced people who had to leave their homes due to challenging of writ by the terrorists.
Nawaz Sharif said that safe and peaceful return of the IDPs to their homes will also be ensured after the establishment of peace in North Waziristan.
Earlier, the prime minister was briefed on the arrangements made for the IDPs of North Waziristan in relief camps. He also met with the soldiers and officers of Pakistan army.
