LONDON, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed optimism that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will perform much better in the local bodies’ elections and win them with good margin.
In his remarks about the recently held elections in Cantonment Boards while talking to media in London on Wednesday, he expressed satisfaction over the PML-N’s performance in these elections.
The ruling PML-N clinched 68 seats to secure top position in the local government elections held in 42 cantonment areas on April 25.
The prime minister also said that his party’s results will be much better in the next general elections.
Talking about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) stance on rigging, the prime minister said that if the evidences of rigging are in ballot bags, then what proof the party has about rigging in the election. He said that Pakistan cannot afford such sort of politics.
Moreover, Nawaz Sharif said that China’s investment in Pakistan under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project envisages construction of motorways and installation of energy projects.
Sharif said that the money being invested by China in Pakistan is not a loan or grant but an investment.
The premier said that new Gwadar city will be built with the Chinese cooperation whose effects will reach entire country.
