ISLAMABAD: Petroleum products prices are likely to mount up by Rs 4.90 per liter from August 1 as the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent summary for increase to the Petroleum Ministry.
The OGRA has mailed summary for increase in petrol price, in accordance with world markets, by Rs 2.73 per liter, high-speed diesel by Rs 4.50 per liter, light-speed diesel by Rs 3.90, and kerosene price by Rs 4.90 per liter.
Consumers’ additional burden, caused by increase in prices, can be avoided by slashing percentage of petroleum levy in the cost and maintaining current prices of the petroleum products, the OGRA has suggested in the summary to the Petroleum Ministry.
If petroleum levy will not be reduced then new prices of POL prices will mount by Rs 4.90 per liter from start of next month.
The petrol price will mount to Rs 104.50 per liter, high-speed diesel to Rs 111.26, light-speed diesel to Rs 96.07, and kerosene oil to Rs 101.19 per liter, from August 1.
