LAHORE: Over 50 members of the Lashkar-i-Jhanvi (LJ) have been arrested in a massive police crackdown across the Punjab province in the last few days, police operations being conducted a week after the banned terror outfit claimed responsibility for a deadly bombing in Quetta killing over 90 people, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Sunday.
The members, including leaders, have been put under arrest for a month under 3-Maintenance of Public Order, a senior police officer said, adding that the crackdown will continue.
Police officer said that crackdown is being conducted under the direction issued by the interior ministry. However, he said, the government did not issue orders for specific number of detentions.
