ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr Arif Alvi will make his maiden address at the Joint Session of the Parliament in Islamabad on Monday amid assurance from the opposition particularly Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that it would let the Session be held smoothly and without creating nuisance.
Dr Arif Alvi was scheduled to address the Joint Session on September 13; however, after the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, his address was postponed.
Meanwhile, special passes have been issued for the Joint Session of the Parliament to be chaired by the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

Dr Arif Alvi was sworn in as Pakistan’s 13th President on September 9.
Earlier on Sunday President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan held a meeting at the State Guest House in Karachi, during the latter’s one-day visit to the Sindh Capital.
President Arif Alvi has also summoned Session of the Senate tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:00 am and of National Assembly at 10:00 am the same day.
It is expected that the Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umar will present the mini-budget in the National Assembly for the remaining 10 months of the current Financial Year 2018-19.
Prior to that a meeting of the Special Capital with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair will be held tomorrow to give its approval to the budget proposals.
