ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain has left for Ankara on Thursday on a two-day visit to Turkey to attend the oath taking ceremony of newly elected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The 60-year-old Tayyip Erdogan earlier served Turkey as the prime minister for eleven years.
The President is accompanied by the adviser to the prime minister on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz.
The oath taking ceremony is being attended by many Heads of State and Government as well as other high-level foreign dignitaries.
Pakistan and Turkey enjoy excellent bilateral relations, marked by cordiality, deep mutual trust and understanding. In recent years, the relationship has transformed into a strategic partnership, with a strong emphasis on economic collaboration.
The president’s visit would reinforce efforts for closer bilateral cooperation and further strengthen the growing partnership between the two countries.
