KARACHI: Scores of people continued their protests in Pakistan’s commercial hub, Karachi, on Monday against the blast that took over 84 Shias lives in Quetta two days ago, the angry protesters clashed with police near airport and set on fire a vehicle outside PIA’s Engineering Department, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
The sources said that the angry mob burnt tyres on roads and blocked main roads of the city that caused severe traffic jam.
The protestors pelted dozens of vehicles with stones when they were stopped from marching on the busy Shahrah-e-Faisal, police said. Meanwhile, dozens of protestors have been rounded up.
Rangers and police resorted to teargas shelling and called extra contingents to disperse the protestors who were demanding immediate arrest of elements involved in Quetta tragedy.
