ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will file a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday, seeking disqualification of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif as a member of the National Assembly on the basis of article 62, 63.
The PTI alleges that the PML-N leader and the country’s incumbent prime minister is convicted in the Asghar Khan case and helicopter hijacking cases and must be dealt according to the law.
The sources said that the PTI’s lawmakers in the lower house Murad Saaed and Ali Muhammad Khan will file a petition in the ECP against Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers with a demand that action be taken against him under article 62, 63 of the constitution.
