LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has unanimously approved a resolution against US drone attacks in the tribal regions of the country and demanded the prime minister to play an effective role to end terrorism in the country.
The resolution was presented by Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday.
The resolution calls for an immediate end to the drone strikes, stating that they violate Pakistan’s sovereignty and are counter-productive in fighting militancy.
Moreover, the resolution demanded an effective role of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to prevent the drone attacks on the country’s soil and to root out terrorism.
